El pasado martes se dieron a conocer las nominaciones para los Premios Eisner 2016 y para sorpresa de muchos, El Eternauta, la obra de Héctor G. Oesterheld y Francisco Solano López, se encuentra entre los nominados. ¿Por qué una historieta argentina de la década del ’50 y en este momento? El motivo es que la Editorial Fantagraphics publicó una reedición del Eternauta para Estados Unidos y por eso está nominada en tres categorías: Mejor Edición norteamericana de Material Internacional, Mejor colección/proyecto de archivo de tiras de prensa y Mejor Diseño de Publicación.

Además, entre otros aspectos, se destaca la ausencia de títulos de DC Cómics en varias de las categorías, en cuanto a sus «imprints», Vertigo y DC Digital, cada uno recibió una nominación. La Editorial Fantagraphics es la más nominada, con 12 postulaciones, seguido de BOOM! Studios con 8 e IDW Publishing con 7 respectivamente.

Por su parte Silver Surfer, serie de Marvel, recibió varias candidaturas, incluyendo Mejor Serie Regular y Mejor Número Individual/One-Shot de 2015 por su número 11. También Mike Allred, su dibujante, fue nominado como Mejor dibujante/entintador o Dibujante/Equipo entintador, y Laura Allred  por Mejor Colorista.
